The goal of children’s ministries at Bluffton United Methodist Church is to teach our children to love our Lord. He created each of us individually. He thought of making mountains, oceans, animals, and you! What love He has for us! How wonderful a Creator He is! We would love for you to join us for any or all of the activities we have to offer. If you have any questions or concerns or ideas, please contact Melissa Bliley with the form at the bottom of the page.
Vacation Bible School was a huge success! During the week of June 19th, children had a fun-filled week learning why God made each of us so unique. Children experienced excellent music and dancing, yummy treats, sciency gizmos, and most of all learning more about God! Volunteers of all ages helped during the week.
Trunk or Treat
The Wednesday before Halloween we party in a safe way that is great fun for children and adults! Adults decorate their car trunks and the children “trick or treat” around the cars. Fun for all ages!
Every Sunday we have printed what our youth and children accomplished. Whether all A’s on a report card, a lead role in the school play, sports achievements, it is printed for all to see and recognize.
Easter Egg Hunt
A favorite tradition in our church. Rain or shine, our youth hide eggs for the children to seek. Traditionally, children empty their treat-filled eggs into their baskets, return the eggs for the next year, and have a yummy snack.
Children's Sermon and Sunday School
Children start out in church with their family. After the Children’s Sermon they go to the education wing for their Sunday School lesson.
Nursery during Church
Nursery is available for all children ages 6 weeks through 3 years. We have very capable, background-checked attendants providing love and care for your children.
Music with Welma Horn
Join Mrs. Horn two Sundays a month for old fashioned fun music. Children learn classics as Jesus Loves Me, Arky Arky, This Little Light of Mine, He’s Got the Whole World, and many other favorites. Sundays will be announced in the bulletin weekly before taking place.
Acolytes are an important part of the service. Children aged 7 and up may serve as accolytes for the church service. Acolyte classes are held periodically throughout the year.
Dinner and fellowship for the children and a chance for parents to get away for a few hours away each month. Usually the second or third Saturday of the month, each parent who signs up drops their kids off at the church for dinner and a movie provided by another parent couple. This is a shared ministry – if you drop your kids off for a night, you must then sign up to provide dinner and a movie. This runs from September through May.
